BIOGRAPHY
Excelling at everything from lacrosse to soccer to snowboarding, young gun "Maddy" Schaffrick's life revolves around sports, which is a good thing considering she manages to find her way to the tops of podiums nearly everywhere she goes.

UPDATE
Young Schaffrick was killing it in 2009, proving that she is headed to the top of the sport. The shredder started the season just narrowly missing the podium against the sport's top dogs as she finished fourth at the Copper stop of the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix. She moved on to finish ningth at the Boreal stop of the Grand Prix, but finished first in both halfpipe and slopestyle at the U.S. Snowboarding Revolution tour in Boreal the weekend after. Schaffrick then made her first World Cup start list in February, before she closed the season nearly on top, finishing third alongside Gretchen Bleiler and Kelly Clark at the final stop of the Grand Prix in Killington.

FIRST TRACKS
From riding at seven to competing at nine, 14-year-old Schaffrick has been in the bindings only seven years, but has managed to cram as much success into those years as is humanly possible.

I AM
An average teenage girl. I love hanging out with my friends and family. I wake up everyday to go to public school. I play sports and absolutely love them… I am an average teenage girl until snowboard season. During snowboard season I train everyday and am always traveling to new and exciting places. Sometimes I wish I was an average teenage girl everyday, all the time, but if I was, I wouldn’t be where I am today, who I’m with, and who I AM.
