BIOGRAPHY
Pat Holland started riding in his hometown, Sandpoint, ID, on Schweitzer Mountain Resort. After graduating high school he moved to Jackson Hole to ride the legendary backcountry and traveled to Torino in 2006 to watch his brother Nate compete in the Winter Olympics. During the race he decided that Vancouver in 2010 was in his future and he moved to Squaw Valley the next winter to pursue his dream.
UPDATE
Two years on the U.S. Snowboarding roster and Holland was making waves by pulling in not one, but two eighth-place World Cup finishes - both of which were career best results. He notched the first during the season's opening World Cup in Argentina, and the second toward the end of the tour in Quebec. To follow up a strong season, Holland, along with the majority of the snowboardcross team, set up shop in Park City for some hard core training at the team's new training facility. Look for a well prepared Holland to keep things rolling in 2010.
FIRST TRACKS
"At the age of 10 I switched over from skiing to snowboarding and have been riding ever since," Holland said. After his high school graduation, Holland made the move from Idaho to Jackson Hole, WY and from there, he was hooked on the lifestyle of snowboarding.
